Caramel Pretzels

This is our favorite for holidays or special occasions! There are prices because my mom does these for our wedding receptions and drizzles our wedding colors in frosting to add color!
Helpful info for local Utahn’s:
1. Pretzels – Sam’s Club - $4.88 per tub. There are about 200 pretzels in each one.
2. Caramel – Kitchen Kneads (Riverdale Rd.) $13.99 for a 5 lb. brick. This will do
about 250 pretzels.
3. Chocolate – Kitchen Kneads - $1.89 for a pound. You can buy basically any color.
They also have flavored chocolate.
Step 1 . Make sure you have parchment paper on your cookie sheets!
Step 2 . Cut the caramel into pieces and put it into a mug (cup). Microwave to melt
caramel. Be careful not to let it boil. Heat it up slowly. Dip the pretzels and rub the bottom on the edge of the mug. Set on parchment.
Step 3 The caramel has to have cooled for the next step. If the chocolate is too warm, it will cool with lines in it. Dip one and set for a few seconds to see if there are little wrinkles. If there is, then let the chocolate cool a bit. Dip the caramel in the chocolate almost to the top leaving a little space so that you can still see the caramel. Rub the same edge along the side of the mug. Place on the parchment. While placing these, make sure the pretzels are all going the same direction.
Step 4 Melt down the chocolate, whatever color you are going to drizzle over the pretzels. They will drizzle better if the chocolate isn’t too hot. Dip a skewer in the chocolate and then just drizzle over the white chocolate layer until you think it looks good. (They will all look better when they are off the tray and not in a line.)
Allow to cool for a couple hours before packaging. They can sit for a few days and still be fine. You can store in a plastic bag for a long time before they are stale.
